Tentoonstelling ‘FOTOGRAMMEN’
3 November - 16 December 2014Gallery Cultural Speech is proud to present the new work of Lucian Wester (*1986, MA Piet Zwart Instituut). In this exhibition he returns to the fundamental elements of photography and asks himself how objective a photograph is. Is it a depiction of ‘that what happened’, a registration of a particular moment? Influenced by the experiments of the physicist Arthur Worthington at the end of the 19th century and his photos that tried to capture the moment a drop of liquid hits solid ground, Wester’s subtle ‘photograms’ show his search for the relationship between the camera, the light and the surface.
